Pregnancy can be an amazing time. Whether you’ve been trying for a while or you didn’t expect things to happen quite so quickly, you might feel just a little bit overwhelmed by what’s happening to your body. Many women discover the positive effects brought on by the increase in the progesterone hormone - skin and hair can glow, food tastes delicious and hopefully you will feel a sense of calm. But for others, especially in the first three months, those much-needed hormones may well bring on intense nausea and food may be the last thing you feel like facing.

After the first trimester (12-14 weeks), daytime tiredness usually lifts and the sickness fades away. Many women feel really well and are driven to start ‘doing things!’. It’s a very positive sign that you want to stay fit and be active and so this is the perfect time to start a Pregnancy Pilates Mat course. You don’t have to be 16 weeks pregnant or more, but it’s fine if you are. If you’re bump isn’t yet beginning to show, you actually don’t need to change to a specific Pregnancy Pilates class yet unless you’d like to book in anyway as your body is certainly going to change shape.
